Trev,
Don't leave it until your next holiday. Make time in your daily routine at home. You can't beat fresh air and excercise to exorcise 'the black dog'.
Just been to the Lancaster Park Run this morning, everyone is so upbeat in the cafe afterwards.
Great thing about Park Run is that it is not performance orientated; OK, they give you a time but everyone just respects one another for turning up and having a go, no matter how fast or slow.
I'm hoping to get my son along to the Morecambe Park Run when it kicks off ..... he's pretty low at the moment.
Ian.
I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

I find that running can cause back problems, especially if inadequate footwear is worn.
After suffering from a bad back, I started swimming 3 times per week, and increased my intake of green tea and anti-inflammatory herbs.
Pretty much cured it.
After years of doing occasional triathlons in windsurfing wetsuits (and once in an 8mm diving wetsuit) I bought a proper triathlon wetsuit from eBay - it's totally totally different, like lying on top of a paddle board and scooting along with your arms. If you want to do any openwater swims/Tris I can't overstate how much better one of these is.
A steady easy mile in Brotherswater today, just the ticket after a few weeks of long mileage.
30mins swimming and 5k bike ride.
This added to 10,000 steps a day.
Only downside is ale on an evening 🍺
