Its not so much about a middle way as understanding the voters.
Corbyn is a nauseous intellectual halfwit who has never done a hard days work and has no idea how the working class think in his phony class war. I think he has a grudge about the fact he is a failure. Given all the opportunities as a public schoolboy and muffed them.
The working class want a leg up, not a hand out. They are aspirational, they want to be wealthy, not to disband the wealthy. Blair understood it, so did Maggie.
They want jobs to be awarded on merit, not because of who you are, so Corbyns nepotism in Labour, giving jobs to his mates is also anathema.
The northerners are very carefule with money, they hate waste, and their reaction to corbyns unfettered spending splurge is of horror not excitement. Wheres the money come from? They know they will end up paying.
They are patriotic, they hate his insults to the queen.
They want security and so reliable armed forces.
They see corbyns consorting with terrorists as objectionable.
It never was anything to do with peace making, and all to do with his obsession against empire.
They resent spongers, they dont want to be spongers.
Corbyn has no idea what real people outside his metropolitan marxist comic books think.
And so on.
As Alan Johnson said on BBC, about Lansman, who is another public schoolboy champagne socialist millionaire, "the working classes always did disappoint Jon": and told him to "go take your cult and student politics" and bin it.
Blair respected aspiration. Corbyn hates it, and thinks the working class should hate it.
