I don't know if any of you watch Tenable. It's on at 3:00pm when Mrs WP gets home so I usually stop what I'm doing and have a brew with her and watch it.
A light-hearted quiz hosted by Warwick Davies where 5 team members try and build a kitty to win in the final game.
They did Ok today and managed to get £27k.
The team were called "Study Buddies" and were 5 uni students.
In the final game they had two optins and picked "The EU".
I thought, here we go. 5 Uni students, Remainer demographic to a T and they will walk it.
They had to name the last 10 EU members states alphabetically.
Each player has a go, if correct, it lights up on the board and next player goes. If wrong you're out.
Player 1 - Switzerland.
Player 2 - Ukraine.
It wasn't looking good. However two of them managed to get to 8 out of the 10 with Malta at No1, Poland No3 and Sweden No9.
They had to find No2 (Netherlands) and No10 (UK)
The first to go advised she was struggling but took a punt on Moldova. X
The last one focussed on position 10. She couldn't think of a country beginning with T other than Turkey and she rightly dismissed it, moved on through the alphabet.... and opted for Yugoslavia
So they go to Warwick and he calls the whole team forward. "Anyone guessing the two remaining answers?"
Not a peep.
You should have seen their faces when the UK came up as one of the options.
I did feel sorry for them. £27k is a lot to lose. But I did find it a little astounding that the supposedly most pro EU people by profile in the country, couldn't even name the UK as an EU member.
