Legs feeling a little jaded after yesterday's bike ride. Soleus also grumbling after resuming hill training after a couple of months of flat roads so just an easy 7km with 250m ascent this evening.

I wasn't feeling it today, but dragged myself around a 4.25 mile Witton loop. 40 minutes 280ft and finished of with 6 sets off approx. 30 secs stride down the canal to finish.

Still a great morning to get out for a little trot

Club session this morning. 6 minutes, 5 x 1 minute, 6 minutes.... all with 90secs jog recovery.

8 hot and sweaty miles including warm up/down.

Booked an hour at the track for thursday morning. Looking forward to that, along with a bit of trepidation... first time back on the track since, must be early march.

Buck Hill and the Outwoods, 40m30s for a route on which "par" is 39m. Almost good enough to deserve being posted on this thread.

Felt totally lacking in energy for the first mile, but seemed to perk up a bit when I got to the hilly part of the route.

Track session this morning. One of the local club tracks has opened up to restricted public bookings.

Went for quality over quantity, and 400mtr reps with 90secs rest, doing as many as possible under 78 seconds. This is certainly a bit of a step up in pace for me so i wasn't sure how i'd fare... i'd normally consider a session of 80 second reps to be a tough session.

In the end was quite pleased to manage 8 reps between 76-78secs before the legs began to protest and i couldn't get any further reps below 79secs, so called it a day.

A gradual upping of ascent and distance so as not to aggravate the calf - 8km/300m. Must have been 10 degrees cooler than Mondays run.

Have you been out on the Mynd at all yet PeteS...?

I'm thinking about going back next week if still furloughed, perhaps running the Stretton Skyline race route. Also got a friend wanting to do the Gill Harris Round as a pair.

Not managed to get that far since restrictions were lifted and with my calf complaining about the recent sudden increase in ascent, I'm not sure its a good idea anyway! It is looking increasingly like my plans for a summer holiday (Scottish Isles) will be shelved so that will give me plenty of time for day trips out that way over the next few months. The Cardington Cracker seems like a lifetime ago now....

Cardington Cracker... yes that was a cold one this (last) year!

Also considering a trip up to Labybower/Derwent/Bleaklow area for some real remote moorland running up on the tops.

Pick a wet windy day Travs or it will be heaving with people!
