Having said that, isn't arthritis a chronic condition? So perhaps every 80 year old is classed as having a chronic condition.
The figures I give are for an average 80 year old - with, as stated, the average number of morbidities that an 80 year old has - these figures are from an actuary who works for the life insurance industry, so I am trusting that he knows what he is talking about. So I am not talking about the 80 year old in perfect health, just the average.
