I think if people haven't got the message about keeping distance then the problem is with the public and nobody else, personally here in rural Wales I have found everyone good, occasional slip up but never anything blatant even in supermarkets. But I don't know what is like in the cities, though looking at that scene in Liverpool last night....

Furthest east: New Zealand, with very few Covid deaths. Australia, Japan, South Korea also doing very well (and China, although I don't trust the non-news coming out of that country). Europe doing much worse, with UK and Spain on the Western fringes particularly bad, and Eastern Europe not so bad. Then across the Atlantic to the Americas, and you find the real disaster areas for Covid deaths: USA, Brazil, Peru, etc.
It even seems to work within the UK. Derry and Strabane with the highest infection rate, and they are at the Western edge of the UK. Liverpool worst in England, with Manchester and Lancashire not far behind; which side of England are they?

That's Scousers for you. The highest number of cases in the country and that's how they behave.

It won't be their fault though, never is.

They will find someone else to blame. They always do.
Visibility good except in Hill Fog

To be fair I think our city centres have always had a massive drink and nutcase problem and, with something like covid coming along, it was inevitable that they would become boiling pots of potential infection. Student cities especially so I guess.

Leeds city centre is carnage on a night out and similarly when I’ve been out for the night (mainly linked to work) occasionally over the years in Edinburgh, London, Birmingham, Manchester and Belfast, they’ve all been frankly dangerous places to be.

A couple of years ago I video’d a small clip of three of us headtorch running at night in thick snow on top of Ingleborough and, through the powers of social media, it somehow found its way onto BBC Yorkshire’s Facebook page and was then shown briefly on early evening tv. Well jesus the flack I got from armchair warriors on that for being so ‘reckless’ ‘thoughtless’ and ‘stupid’!! My answer to that was that we knew the mountain like the back of our hands and, in any event, it wasn’t nearly so dangerous as a Friday night out in Leeds city centre

People with low numeracy skills more likely to believe misinformation about
    Covid....

You forgot North Korea, not a single case there. The UK should follow their example as they have it 100% sorted, they are an example to the rest of the world.

Boris says regional curbs are the way forward.

Keir says we need a circuit breaker and the government scientific advisers agree.

But Dr Roland Salmon, former director of communicable diseases at Public Health Wales, said: "I simply don't think a circuit breaker will work." Covid circuit breakers are "doomed to fail", according to a disease expert.

Meanwhile Macron in France is telling people to go to bed at 21.00hrs.

None of this indecision in North Korea, why does nobody ever say we should ask Kim?
