Thinking bullhorn bars may be better for. Any one use them?

Like you I find the drops uncomfortable on the neck and shoulders, I also go numb in one shoulder - but that is a nerve problem and happens whatever. Only go in the drops on some downhill.
I do a lot of climbing on the bike. Mainly short , sharp stuff but seldom am I in the drops. That is is reserved for longer descents or for putting the power down on the flat i.e. situations when you need an aero advantage.
I've got straight bars on my 29er but I had to take an inch or so off them as they were just too wide so that's another consideration it you are thinking of changing.
I've just had my handle bars changed as was in agony just holding on the tops.
Supposedly my bike was too big for me and I my arms were far too stretched out.
I do have long legs and a shorter body. Maybe a female thing?
Now need to ride it to see if it has worked!
