7.03 miles, 2,411 feet, 2 hours 18 minutes: Wansfell Pike from the west, ascending via Borrans Road, Stagshaw Gardens, the Champion Tree Trail, Skelghyll Woods, and Blue Hill Woods/Road. Overcast, with the cloud base at about 1,300 feet. Constant drizzle/light/moderate rain. A moderate wind from the south east. Not cold. Terrain saturated and very slippery. I saw 11 walkers and 1 runner on the fell; the runner warned me that he had slipped 3 times.

The forestry workers have been along some of the paths in Skelghyll Woods with their 4WDs and made a real mess of them, but I suppose they have to get the trees out somehow.

Nothing wrong with a Suffolk Punch and a chain!

9.35 miles, 2,584 feet, 2 hours 50 minutes: Loughrigg trails, ascending via Clappersgate, Fishgarths Wood and Todd Crag, going up the Loughrigg Tarn Steps, and down and up the race route to/from the road at High Close, and descending past the old golf club to Miller Bridge. Mainly overcast, but with some patches of blue sky; the clouds just caught some of the highest tops. A moderate wind from the south west; a few minutes of drizzle. Terrain saturated/streaming and slippery. Lots of walkers on the fell; no other runners seen.

It was not at all cold - I did not need to use my waterproof top.

9.41 miles, 3,061 feet, 3 hours: Loughrigg trails, taking in Fishgarths Wood, Todd and Ivy Crags, Lily Tarn, the race descent to the road at High Close, and up the steps opposite Loughrigg Tarn. Overcast, with the cloud base at about 2,000 feet. A strong surprisingly warm wind from the south. I was not rained on, though I could see some in the distance. Terrain saturated and slippery. Not many walkers about; no other runners seen.

Ive had one or two little runs up the hill lately, nothing dropped off or broken yet. Turning 70 next month I feel I should give it one last try, be nice to finish on a couple of short races but that may be wishfull thinking.

From our door I go uphill, short bit of road then into the forestry which gives about 250m climb in first 11/2k - a bit hard on old, cold legs!
Only done about 5 runs but Thursday Mr Strava said I did 6.1k with 340m ascent in 46 minutes.
    Apologies for the metric nonsense!

11.16 miles, 3,513 feet, 4 hours: Elterwater Common - Silver How - Lang How - Swinescar Pike - Blea Rigg - Sergeant Man - then back over the same tops, with some minor route variations. Overcast, with some patches of blue sky; the cloud base was at about 2,000 feet. A moderate wind from the south - not as warm as yesterday, but then I did go higher today. No rain. Terrain saturated and slippery. Quite a few walkers about; 1 fellow runner seen.
