Great result Travs. Probably your best? And must've been a very strong run by George to beat Lee Gratton. Lee has been dominating Staffs road, trail and xc races the last couple of years, plus the odd fell race. And did a 30 min 10k only last week at Stone.

Lee Gratton also won the Midlands Track 5000m Champs a couple of weeks ago in 14-something.... He absolutely flew up the the road section* and had a huge lead by the time we went through the fell gate... although i was talking to the guy who came 3rd afterwards, and he said that Lee was walking most of the steepest sections... which is where i assume George Foster pounced.
*talking of the road section... i was in the unofficial post-race debrief with a few of the leading guys, in the takeaway... they all commented that i went off really quickly (too quickly in the opinion of some)..... however it was no quicker than about 3:20/km pace which is easily manageable for me up the length of Victoria Terrace (its only 80 second per lap pace on the track), and i was conscious to wind it down at the Cattle Grid.... it was no more hectic than the start of a League XC Race... for someone like me, who may have been looking at a pb by only a matter of seconds, i can't afford to hang about when there's a few seconds to be taken.
