The run between Peny and whernside is flatish for about 6 or 8 miles. Im probably wrong, but that is the flattest section not sure on the distance

Brilliant service - entry posted on Tuesday, details back on Thursday - much faster than my emails that week.
    Are there any flat bits?
Good to see you're back Mark, and that you're doing the Three Peaks. It's yonks since I went round the route (20 years ish), and I'm looking forward to doing it again.

Ah Right, so thats why they call it the three peaks

My Avatar by the way is a pic of me going up Whernside.

I remember when I was a slightly more niave fellrunner than I am now, I posted on the forum two years ago (very early forum days). About the three peaks, due to my inexperience I thought the race was a series of races on different dates, and the broken down checkpoint times on the results. Where cummaltive times for each of the hill races.

My post was asking, what date are each of the races, how long is each race and how does the points system work out.

I think the reply I got was "Are you for real pal"

An amateur blunder on my part. I had never even looked at a map at that point and only done the local 3 mile fell races.

Those harsh replies prompted me to first start training and do the three peaks.

    Good eh.
