Be careful with that one Basil
I usually give it a week after I feel better.
These bugs tend to stick around a little bit longer than you think.
I ran myself down last year after a bug and it made me ill, chesty and off for longer.

i agree , you should go very steady if you start on sat , ive got over the worst of my chest infection only to be hit with a rather violent stomch bug .i havent eaten for couple days because of it and am concerned myself. but if i do get there me and my mate will be taking it very steady ourselfs so therell be other people putting a lot walking in too that you can tag onto.apart from the top end of the feild these events are not a "race" anyway, there a long day out in good company i usally find. only you know if you feel upto it.we'll maybe see you there,i'll be the other one coughingOriginally Posted by Basil

i normally give it a week but i missed tankies and have not been right since the day after the grouse race so im def doing this.
Its just the time of yearr, my training diary from this time last year was very up and down.
I seemed to start aorund Pendle (3 week ago) this time last year.
I did not feel myself until early december, had 3 good weeks in December. Then from new year onwards for 2 months I was completely on and off.
Bloody Winter I say.

Is it a bowl of hot stuff or just energy stuff like Jaffa cakes and Stuff.
If we pass a Chippy late on I'm darting in for pie, chips, gravy and a can of dandelion & burdock without question.
If you remove the horror of the distance and weather this sounds like a great day out.
now you're talking my sort of run, a good bag of chips could make it feel all worth while
