Nice one Allan. One of the Bowland crew, who is very much into C-X, has 2 of those Terry Dolan's, built up with XTR groupsets and bar-end gearlevers. He managed 3h 46m ??s in the 2006 3PeaksCX; which gave him 12th V40, around 45th o/a.

No it's because it's the winter bike too - so I have the guards on for the other riders in the bunch. If I am using it for proper cross then I will take the guards off. Surely you have mudguards on your winter bike if you ride in a bunch a lot? Also I can recall occasions where I've been riding in heavy rain and not been able to see because of the spray of water from the front wheels. Plus it keeps your arse dryer and the mud off it so you don't get complaints when you pop in for a cafe stop.

It's a nice frame - very sturdy and robust, but not too heavy and doesn't cost the earth either - only £250ish which considering you are getting a seatpost, fork and headset in the deal is a bargain I think!

A considerate rider, nowt wrong with mudguards, see you have campy gears as well. Are they better than Shimano?

It's a good job you're not on a cycling forum! Campag vs Shimano debates are pretty much banned!

Campag make the best corkscrew in the world. Nuff said.

Woops, sorry. Never had campy so wouldn't know. Used to be in a cycling club but found bike snobbery very boring. Who gives a **** wot you use as long as you enjoy yourself and it lasts
