Planned 20 miler went out the window through lack of time, managed to squeeze a 12m/1500ft in though and still feel good after. Dog is asleep now but she's probably done over 20. Cold and claggy ont tops round Crowhill.
How's it going Steve? Hobble in a week or so with Gezza?
Trying really hard to do something about my woeful pace. Tried hill reps and intervals, but my calves REALLY suffer for days after, so have devised a route up, down and around Tegg's Nose and up and down some more that adds up to about 1000' of climb in about 4 or 5 miles (guesstimate). Best time to date is 58 minutes, but the plan is to use this to push myself in a way intervals do. It's a lovely route when the weather's clear and right on my doorstep:D.
Longer stuff is my bag, but a minimal bit of pace is needed.
Trying to do 15-20 miler each week (and that is enough for our dog), but like you Steve, the time is the limiting factor. Back to working shifts now but still need to carefully balance the work / family / running.
14 mile, down Cliviger valley, up over black hameldon, through hardcastle crags, and down to hebden bridge where my lift was waiting.
Walked all the tussocky bits but still did ok. Feel really good now and I'm pizza neutral after last night.
A run of two halves - Greenfield out via Pots n' Pans to Broadstone trig, return via Alderman - dropped both dogs off at home as today they were driving me bonkers....Headed out again from home up past the row of cottages (quick hello to TurboTom) upto to the plantation and back home...great to get out, will be nice to get rid of this sinus infection....
3hr15 off road run, including 1hr 45mins of single track, hilly running in the awesome Castle Eden Dene :) Ran with couple dudes from the club, and met a host of other club members at the Dene entrance for the planned hill session. Finished up doing the last 5k down a disused railway line in around 17mins Dont know if this was wise having already been running for nearly 3hrs but felt good ;) First marathon training run in the lead up to Edinburgh....bring it on
Just a gentle hour with Ernie this morning.
Not exactly training, just a social recovery run with a hill or two in the middle.
Fantastic morning out on Pendle. Sun out, blue skies, dry underfoot.
Very busy with runners!
Nice couple of hours out.
Off to watch Liv v Utd now!
A nice 14.5 miler up Chew & along Laddow and up to Black Hill & Back. 2500 ft in 2:52.
40mins on treadmill and stepper in hotel gym. No a/c and 30 degrees C outside, so hard work!
9 miles/1800 feet trail/fell/reservoir paths n tracks and field paths from Digley Reservoir

A very good, enjoyable and fun week. Cant say I'm getting any quicker but the heather seems to be getting shorter! It's looking like it could be a good year for me.
On Saturday did Pen Y Pass to Glyder Fawr, then Glyder Fach, Tryfan, Lyn Idwal, Pen Yr Ole Wen (east ridge), Idwal Cottage (direct descent... interesting!), Y Garn, Glyder Fawr and back to Pen Y Pass. Tryfan was a bit of an error as I've not done it before and it was fully clagged up. Spent the best part of an hour getting up from the col from Glyder Fawr and then back down to the lake. Missed the Heather Terrace. Otherwise a good run, despite zero views. Annoyingly Sunday was a glorious day.
Another 40mins in hotel gym. It was even hotter today and a real struggle. Roll on Sunday and some proper running
Sat- 25mile 3,500ft (Trollers Trot)
Mon-Weights in gym, 4.5mile on the road.
Felt a bit tired from Trollers Trot, should be recovered for Hobble on Saturday though!
Just a quick 6 mile 1250ft run to work finishing with Beacon hill overlooking Halifax before the drop down to chocolate world (work).
Nice 9 miler in the sunshine and glorious blue sky...was fairly windy along the cliff tops though...1hr 14mins...not bad for me, off the back of Trollers on Sat
22.5 miles and 5800ft ascent, very steady pace and very windy but a good run out
It seems to be normal, not really training for anything specific other than a lot of big days out in the Highlands. Hopefully due for a Tranter in May, so need to rack up the climbing for that!
Should be quite a big week, due for about 60 miles and 15-17000ft ascent, fortunately jelly babies are buy one get one free at the moment
Didn't get out today, but 3 sessions yesterday. Work and back on the bike, 21km and 250m climb each way in 45min each, followed by evening race of a bit over 7km and a decent hill in 31.21.
7 Mile road/trail, was nice and sunny when I set off so I thought quick run no need for a jacket, but half way through is started to hailstone the only time I leave my montane jacket at home and it hails glad it only lasted 15 mins!!!
50 lengths of the pool
40 minutes on the turbo trainer
60 minutes splitting wood
2 mile bog trot over some local fields, first run since Trollers injury problems and all went well so fingers crossed it's mending nicely
8 miles and 2000ft of ascent on the forest trails behind Dent, first "proper" run after spraining my ankle last month (I've done about three slower runs to test it out in the last week)
Felt good to be moving fast again but what a shock to the legs! Last time I did this run early Feb legs felt as if I'd done nothing afterwards, just now feels like I've been given two dead legs :o
At least I'm back :D
22miles and 5200ft ascent. Really rather windy.
5 mile hill reps session this morning, 6 1/4 mile efforts in approx 1:30 each with a mile or so warm up/warm down either side. Felt good to get out, first hard session since injuring myself at Trollers so happy with that. Could've done with a steeper hill but such as life eh, if I got out of bed earlier I would've had more time to choose ;)
About 7 miles last night from langsett, a bit wild but put some effort in.
Did a gentle 6 miles around the roads last night. really plesed to clock 41 mins having not run for 3 months and seem to have little aggrevation of my hip injury today. Not counting chickens but might make Wolfs Pit yet!!
24 miles through Surrey Hills / North Downs, about 2,500ft
3h50m
Horton, Ingleboro', Park Fell, Ribblehead, Whernside the long way round, Hill Inn, I'boro, Horton.
22 (?) miles, 4000' or so.
A very steady 4.50.
Snow showers thrown in for extra fun. ;):D
