Quick 7km run at Lyme park for me today, would have been longer but I turned my ankle and had to head back. Not feeling too bad now, so probably did the right thing.
Glorious day to be outside today, felt like the king of the world standing on the little pyramid at bowstones!
Sheffield Half, 1:20:08. Scorchio! Now back to the fells!
Me too!! Don't know how I managed the last 5 miles. Total heat exhaustion by the finish. Sad to see the amount of people collapsing in the last 3 miles. Rubbish time but I'm gonna be back next year to smash it. Training in the sauna and the fridge to cover all angles. Today is usually my long run training day but we have decided to be "ladies that lunch" at the Ladybower inn instead :-)
On Sunday I did 2 hours on the hills back of my house, there has been one that I could see and not yet run up, so I ticked that one off, and then ran on the road to catch up with the wife who was running her own little route on the lanes around our village.
Yesterday me and my mate went to run up Queensbury Hill in D&G. We got “disorientated” in the low cloud.:o My mate was supposed to be navigating as he had done the run before (if I was navigating we might still be up there). We ran passed one cairn then about ½ hour latter I am sure we pasted the same one again. In the end we had to bin it as we ran out of time because I had to go to work in the afternoon. Once we worked out where we were it was no problem. Still a good run, and the hill will be there for another day.

Surprisingly fit
7.26 miles up, down and around the Wessenden Valley. 1130 ft of ups and downs in 1:09:30.
Another tough day, early morning swim, then walk of 2 miles each way for a job interview. 3 mile run along the canal in just over 20 minutes. 15 minutes hill training on the cross trainer, 20 miles on the exercise bike on hill mode (boring I know) and then 10 reps of our block of flats, 5 stories.
I also did 3 miles along the canal towpath yesterday but in almost 24 mins so nowhere near as fast as young Tom!
Today - a 15+ mile/1350ft footpath/bridleway/woodland/reservoir path run at 'LDWA pace' in the glorious Washburn Valley - from Lindley Bridge to A59 at Fewston Res (Blubberhouses car park) via Dob Park Bridge & Timble, back along res paths to Swinsty Moor car park, past Gareth Southgate's humble abode and back up to Norwood Edge Plantation & Lindley Wood Top/Greystone Beck before dropping back to Lindley Bridge - then the 'sad' bit of a short out and back to get over 15 miles (14.87 wouldn't do:rolleyes: !!)
6 mileshilly road yesterday, fisrt run since scotland, it hurt!
This morning was steady run with Brent PFR around the Mickledon. 12 miles ish
Played 3 hours worth of football today, had the HRM on...ran over 16km. Absolutely shattered now...played a Paul Scholes type role behind the striker. Scored a 25 yard screamer and landed a few stereotypically nasty studs up tackles.
Few miles over Scout Scar on Monday, an enjoyable, leisurely 6 hours round Langdale with Derby Tup and Stef on Tuesday and leg 1 of Spooney's BG tonight. Not much next week before the LAMM.
A nice 13 miler around Dovestones & Black Hill. 2130 ft of ups and downs in 2:23:12.
Meall nan Tarmachan, cracking hill.
15km 968m, first decent run I've managed in a good while
I did 20 miles very steady on the road friday, then Duirsdeer Recc'y run today with 11 club members, some of us tried a alternative route half way round, I think this involved a bit more climbing than the normal route, it would be nice to have made 4000ft in total today, but don’t think so, may be 3900ft for the day and 10.5 miles. Still we had a nice picnic outside the church afterwards.

A nice run out and about the PW around the Wessenden Valley, up West Nab and home. 10.66 miles with 1470 feet ups in 1:47:00.
Two runs with the running pushchair yesterday. 5.2km with 200m climb in the morning, running to our local ice cream making farm. 5.5km with 100m climb home with a playground detour. Just over half an hour out, just under on the way back.
Also discovered strava....
I did the Carlisle Tri club 10k road race tonight, couldn’t quite manage a sub 39 min’ but it counts as a good fast training run never the less. Back to the hills tomorrow.

am. 45 minutes up and around the back of Latrigg, then did 4 x 20 second strides afterwards. left some vomit for the tourists at the Skiddaw car park- still ill after a race on Saturday pm. biked about 30 miles with random stops while cheering on some team mates in the carlisle tri club 10k.
Great Dark Peak race last night.
Alport is one of the best, plummeting descents and lung bursting climbs with navigation to boot 7 miles 2000ft.
I really do prefer running when it's grim out
Ben More, Stob Binnein, Beinn Tulechain, and Cruach Ardrain yesterday 18.3km 2106m
Beinn a'chroin, Beinn Chabhair, and An Caisteal this morning 17.2km 1611m
Felt pretty good yesterday, less so this morning. Probably because it wasn't raining. Regardless after a solid 6 weeks of feeling rubbish and struggling it's good to have a bit of life in the legs.
am. 50 minutes on road/trail, pretty flat, steady pace (around 6.30-6.45). did a lower body weights session afterwards. pm. went to killington sports, ran the course as a warm up, then came 3rd in the race behind tom addison & danny parkinson, decent uphill, awful downhill (couldn't see-need glasses!). ran for another 20 mins on the road, then did a fartlek back of 2 mins hard, 1 minute easy, then 10 minutes easy. all in all a good session of about 10 1/2 miles including warming up and down.
A gnats under 9 miles with 970 feet of ups based around the PW, Standedge, Pule Hill and home. A nice wet and windy session in 1:24:31.

53 and a bit miles and 12,180 ft for the week :)
am. 90 horrible minutes in greystoke forest with the rest of the boys from border harriers, never ran here before. basically 2 45 minute loops ending in a 3/4 mile hill after each loop. started out at 6.30's, soon dropped to 6.00's, then 5.30-45's. last 10 minutes was pure survival. slept for 5 hours once i got home....pm. 20 minute "shakeout" in fields, very slow, ran with 13 year old brother!
A warm 13.25 from Dovestones to Chew, Laddow to Black Hill, West Nab to Home. 2340 ups in 2:30:05.
Snowdon race recce. 1:47. Just over the hour to the summit. Definitely need to work on my descents.
Anyone fancy a long one on Kinder tomorrow?
Looking at a 20 mile / 6000 - 7000 ft
Bit of company might stop me going home early
62 mins Orienteering on High Rigg, 20-odd mins general pootling around, then 1.35 up Sticks Pass then to Helvelyn and down a different way with RhysFR - easy for me so probably catatonic for him. All in all well worth the trip over for the day!
[QUOTE=IanDarkpeak;487779]Tuesday maybe, looking at a half dozen...[/QUOTE
Let me know if you're on Kinder tomorrow Ian. Couldn't make it out today.
follow Kinder dozen CW route until RR depending on time, then back over 10 minute crossing and back.
