Are there any sign posts like there are on the pennine bridleway?
the race follows the CWR almost completely, but deviates in a few key places:
Start of leg 1 to join CWR from the start line
Detour out to Stoodley Pike on leg 2
End of leg 3 on the road from Hippins Bridge to Blackshaw Head to approach from the right direction, and changeover on top road not lower road.
Start of leg 4, drop from top road to lower road in Blackshaw Head to rejoin the CWR.
Mid leg 4 shortcut through woods to Wade Bridge avoiding Jerusalem farm.
End of leg 6 drops on road to join canal towpath at A629 bridge rejoining CWR on B6112.

I think that's about it, all the details are on the Halifax Harriers web site anyway.

Signposting - yes but can't be relied on, you need to know where you're going.
