ab fab denzil - ta! however - on comparing these estimates to mine I find your first checkpoint to be a scary 12miles - where I make it only 10.6m that is - HIR to RH - 10.6m (but 2200ft). I prefer to try and do 10.6m in 2hr10 not 12miles!

If anyone is interested - RH to HI - 5.26 and 1600ft

(this means for cut off purposes - about 16m in 3hr and 30 mins)

    HI to finish - 6.58 1450ft.

but mine is based on memory map software not actual running....... it seems so much easier that way.

Thats another reason for not entering (for me)..... so i've not quite given in to spectating yet!
    There you go Paul

Well my ticket came through today at 400 so no going back. Really must go and try a reccie. However from Edinburgh easier said then done - may be down visiting my folks in the North East in a few weeks and could a reccie on either the 1st or 8th April - anybody I could tag along with?

    Re: three peaks

If anyone is interested I've edited my memory map calculations into my earlier post above - but to summarise regarding cutoffs -

    1st cut off is 2hr:10mins - distance I reckon is 10.6m and 2200ft
    2nd cut off is 3hr:30 - distance a smidgen under 16m and 3800ft.

Its alright for you fast runners out there - you dont have to think about cut off points - sorry if I'm wasting your web space with my worries but i have to be realistic and I thought that maybe just maybe - there might be someone in the same boat as me - if there isnt - i'm definatly not entering - I hate long runs by myself -

    Re: three peaks

We'll have none of this DS! Results, including splits are here. There's loads of people hitting the first checkpoint around the 2 hour mark.

Am I going to have to drag myself out of retirement to get you round??
