A pair of half worn 330's for me. By the time I've finished they'll be ready for the bin.

    Thats my boy!

Now then all you folks wandering about clogs. Look, this race puts a premium on speed and grip on both rock, shale and steep mad downill grass/mud. So forget the road bit, you need the best sort of grip you can get on a very low and lightweight shoe. Walshes are hard to beat in this combination of requirements...and they might as well be new. After all, this is the Wimbledon Final, the FA Cup final, the Rugby Grand Slam of British Fell Racing. If ya cannae git noo shooes fer that one, when can ye??

Well said Wheeze. As I said before, I'll be in a new (or very nearly new) pair of Mudclaw 270s. A half-worn pair isn't good enough for this race.

I agree. My mudclaws 270 have just 16 mile on em. Just enough to break em in.

    Mudroc 290s
    low profile trail shoes?

    Cheers
I wore 290's last year and will do so again. There's a lot of rock and it gets slippyish when wet so anything with good grip will do.

Marvin, I think you'll find that your very nearly new pair of 270's will be half worn by the time you hit the Red Burn anyway

    Re: Ben Nevis 2008

I got an entry for the race via the reserve list but my wife has just had major surgery and it looks like I'm going to be nurse maiding instead. I'm gutted!

I emailed the race sec to try to transfer the entry to the reserve list, but it's too late for any number transfers, so I'll be a no-show.

The Mrs says she owes me an entry for next year!

    Have a great run everyone.
