They might look like (relatively) short cut off times but in fact it's plenty. I struggled around the first bit with gut rot in 2008 and even in my sorry state comfortably reached Ribblehead before struggling up Whernside. You'll be fine on the day!

I did Holme Moss 2007 in about 4.15 and Langdale 2007 in just over 4 hours. My best time for 2008 was 46.10 for an off road 10K (Newby Hall). Be honest need I bother applying for the Three Peaks? The cut offs look to me as if they want people who can do 10K in about 42 mins. I've just had the flu but before that felt I was improving especially since joining a running club. Terrain, navigation, nor distance are problems but if I'm not going to have the speed. If any body thinks I've got a chance of training up to the standard throw me a line otherwise I'd appreciate being put out of my misery.

Guick you'll be surprised about the cut offs; the thing about the 3 peaks is that after Pen y Ghent right from the off there's a huge largely down hill run in to Ribblehead making the first 12 miles quite fast. You'll easily make the first cut. Getting up Whernside and through almost certain crippling cramp at the top is the real hurdle to making the second cut at Chapel le Dale rather than anything else. If your wheels do fall off it'll be after Chapel le Dale on the way up Ingleborough but by then there are no more time cuts to worry about.....

you did Holme Moss and Langdale a damn sight faster then me, but I've done the Three Peaks about 5 times and never struggled with the cut-offs so get yourself entered.

You've got loads of time to train up GD.
I'd only been running a year and only had three weeks to train last year as I got a last minute place.
Although my finish time wasn't good in comparison to lots of others on here, I was really pleased that I just finished it and there were still plenty people behind me!
You'll be fine, if you want to do it...get yourself entered!!!!

It was my first PPP last year - I did 1:46 to Ribblehead and finished 4:39. I had a bad Whernside!

Go to Horton - run the route to Ribblehead at what you see as a decent pace - you'll be surprised I think.
You'd have to really take your time to be longer than 2:10.

You can then either run back to Horton or catch a train.

We did a recce on Friday - 11 of us - steady up Pen-y-Ghent - 5 minutes rest at the top.
Another brief rest as we crossed the Ribble at about 9 mile and then again on the main road at about 9.5 mile just before Ribblehead as a few were heading back.
I got to Ribblehead in 2 hours - about 10 minutes rest in there.

I would guess that you would get around the race in 4:30 to 5:00 and be within the cut off at Pen-y-Ghent by 10 -15 minutes.

    Give it a go.

My first 3p last year. Finished in a slightly disappointing 5:01. You shouldn't have any probe at ribblehead, just take your time. I was 10 min under at chapel me dale.

    Give it a go.

    Go for it!
I did it last year, and got to Ribblehead with 8 mins to spare and Hill Inn with 2 and a half mins in hand. I got round in 5.22 and was absolutely delighted because for the whole time training I was never ever 100 per cent certain I would make the Hill Inn cut-off.
The 3P is one of the best things I've ever done.
(My best 10k time was 53 mins on the road.)

What time do you expect the site will start taking entries? Just found out I am on a course and will be without puter access from 7-6. Would be most dissapointed if it had filled up by the time I got back home!!!

Who's going to be 1st to say 7:30?
