By that do you mean look at through curiosity from time to time, shaking your head with an indulging smile as you struggle to understand how people take such quaint ideas seriously; and then going out to continue your self-indulgent, hedonistic lifestyle regardless?

    Sounds about right!

    Re: Todays Injuries

Started off with ITB on right knee. The ITB pain has now gone but other niggles now in its place. Mainly right, but sometimes left.

Always had some form of pain/discomfort on one knee or the other.

I can normally run through it and get no pain when running. Since I've been off this time though these niggles have been painful enough to stop running + this time get pain behind kneecap on downhill heelstrike.

Suspect it's all related to the same problem: over-tightness in quads, glutes, etc.

    Yeap
My ITB doesnt give me much trouble at the mo, currently the front of my knee caps are really painful and ive also damaged one of the ligaments on the inside (All on both knees)
Beginning to feel im not even going to be right come the Kentmere Horseshoe, maybe even Langdale.

Hope your knees are now better, if not then don't carry on regardless. You echo exactly what I have been saying for several years about my knees.Address the pain behind your kneecap: there will be things peculiar to your conformation/gait/flexibility/muscle imbalances causing it.Google patellofemoral pain and read up on it -its v. common in runners.Find a good running physio if it doesn't go away and you can't work out why not.I kept going and built up fairly big quads which I thought would protect my knees. When I had patella chondromalacia diagnosed orthopaedically 2-3 years ago and was just told to do less, rest more, I wish I'd gone into it more thoroughly then.See my post about cartilage in health category!! At least I now have an excellent orthopaedic surgeon.Don't mean to sound bossy, but wish someone could have said this to me a few years ago!

Cheers for this W-A-K, will do my research on that and check out that other thread. Since November, I've only done about 30mi - end of Jan/start of Feb when I thought the rest was doing it's trick. Too soon and after no professional help. Was back to square one.

Went to see a physio last week who's given me some good work to do stretching out my ITB and building strength in the glutes (specifcally the outside) and the quads, but also the ligaments/tendons around the kneecap. Finding time for it all's a pain, but a couple of them I can do whilst making fone calls during the day.

Will see what my googling throws up as well. Cheers!!
