I can normally run through it and get no pain when running. Since I've been off this time though these niggles have been painful enough to stop running + this time get pain behind kneecap on downhill heelstrike.
Hope your knees are now better, if not then don't carry on regardless. You echo exactly what I have been saying for several years about my knees.Address the pain behind your kneecap: there will be things peculiar to your conformation/gait/flexibility/muscle imbalances causing it.Google patellofemoral pain and read up on it -its v. common in runners.Find a good running physio if it doesn't go away and you can't work out why not.I kept going and built up fairly big quads which I thought would protect my knees.When I had patella chondromalacia diagnosed orthopaedically 2-3 years ago and was just told to do less,rest more, I wish I'd gone into it more thoroughly then.See my post about cartilage in health category!! At least I now have an excellent orthopaedic surgeon.Don't mean to sound bossy, but wish someone could have said this to me a few years ago!
