    Regarding sprouts, one must use a little science here. The problem is that if you overcook them, the cell walls break down, allowing 2 chemicals to get together that creates the nasty farty smell and gaggy taste.
    The secret is to boil them for precisely 3 minutes no more then plunge them into iced water to stop the cooking. This stabilizes the cells.
    Then you can have fun with them. For chrissy I like to stir fry them with onion, walnut and nutmeg...plus or minus parma ham/bacon for an extra meaty kick (but I guess minus for Hann).

    Maybe some parmesan shavings though in stead?

    Sounds a bit advanced for my style of cooking... verging on the Heston Blumenthal... sprout porridge perhaps?
