Thread: Care to join me?

    Re: Care to join me?

Right, well weather dependent, going to head up to Pendle (Nick of Pendle) tomorrow for 11am for a snow trot around a random route depending on mammoth snow drifts and this supposed ice wind coming in from the East, which I'm not going to make fun of, because it will probs cripple us

As for Sunday, whats the score SS, are you up for a sunday Pendle Cloughs?

If not I'll be doing a similar scenario on Sunday, maybe from Downham or Barley at around 10-11am, or whenever

Could well be on for it depending on the roads. I think things are looking a bit better at present compared to last Sunday. Was going to have to give it a miss cos of a family thing, but reckon we're now going to bin that to avoid a long journey in these conditions.

    0800 Downham...unless I post otherwise before then.

    That's cheating, surely?

That's not the forecast I've seen - not at all encouraging for Sunday. I'm supposed to be doing a marshals recce walk for the Two Crosses - 25 miles in blizzards may be easier than actually getting to and from the start point

That said, the BBC NW forecast (last night) does seem more gloomy than that on MWIS or the Met Office site

Good one mate, Downham should be easier to get to than Barley for myself anyways, can nip through Chatburn.

Sorry to ask the obvious, but meeting in the little car park there, near the bridge?

Well, I'll be starting from the bridge. I may check the road conditions before committing myself to parking at the bottom of Downham. Might not be able to get back out again!! Assuming all's well though, I'll be in the little car park by the loos. Otherwise, will park at the top near the church/PO/pub and walk down.

Gordon - I'm keeping fingers crossed for weather round here. All I've heard is that snow was forecast for last night (didn't arrive) and Sunday night. Will still be cold, but with no more snow, it might be alright.

Good idea mate, shall we park at the pub? Might be a wiser choice for multiple reasons

No probs, there's always another time!

Just spend an hour de-frosting my car, now just hope the roads will be ok hehe
