Science has many of such adherents. People who'll fix the data for a bit of extra government cash, whilst propagandising certain notions like global warming.(I've noticed they've been a bit quiet recently, what with all the snow).

Yes it is the so called educated people who have brought this country to its knees, and left the innocent at their mercy.

This is your best one yet.

    You are brilliant.

Back in 2008 Scientists actually predicted we may well see no warming for a decade. Google multidecadal oscillation.

When you've had a read come back and debate that point.

Noone has been quiet. Global warming is happening. We've just been out to Australia which is suffering record drought, tell them there's no change.

Yes those scientists at UEA were wrong, but what youa re trying to do above, taking a snippet of climate/weather from one location and using that as an argument against a global change is ignorant in the extreme.

You've out done yourself there, well done Christopher.

Science has revolutionised our world, from antibiotics, to cancer treatments. It's incredible how we keep making gains in medicine. To call these people 'so called educated' is just idiotic.

You also obviously have no idea how science funding works. BTW how many proposals have you submitted/reviewed/or had funded to speak with such authority on how government cash is gained?

Again an answer would be good.

    Yours Dr IainR

. I on the other hand do not support the NHS. I recognise that my body isn't state property. Problem is, I'm forcibly taxed to pay for the NHS. Such taxation has left me at the mercy of the NHS, because I cannot afford to pay again for private health care. Therefore I accept NHS treatment

Calling me a hypocrite is a moral judgement, but morality is a matter of choice. There is no choice when it comes to paying taxes.

One last point. I do not regard NHS workers on the whole as evil.

yet you are happy to take private health care by doctors, nurses, and specialist trained by the tax payer at their expense. you are happy for the lowest paid to have no care at all because they could not pay for it...what a wonderful person you are.

i do not believe in the private sector but i have to pay again for what i once had till people like you sold it off to people like you. WATER, if i dont PAY i die. ELECTRIC AND GAS, if don'ti pay i freeze to death (why should anybody make billions every time a little old lady makes a cup of tea?)

.... nothing but absolute drivel, you're talking round in circles CL and going from one flawed argument to the next.

Education, whether formal or not, allows us to draw from a wealth of accumulated knowledge and human endeavour. Without it we are nothing. I don't want people to agree with me but be able to present well thought out and valid arguments for their points of view.

It allows you to see past the public facade of the BNP to their root which is race based politics. If you don't think that's evil then you've got some pretty infamous bed fellows. However it also allows you to realise that, in an educated and enlightened society, they've also got the right to be heard.

You're happy to do that because you know from history that the far right has never flourished in Britain (Moseley was a figure of fun). You're confident that the more chances they get to present their message the flimsier their facade becomes (I had no problem with Mr Griffin being on Question Time as he hardly covered himself in glory).

That's not being a "whimp comformist" it's being incredibly brave and showing a lot of faith in your fellow man.

You accuse me of taking a snippet of climate/weather from one location and using that as an argument against a global change. Then you cite Australia as an example of global warming!

Global warming means global warming. It does not mean global cooling. You can't have it both ways, although I can see the advantage in trying to make it mean all things to all men.

Science has made life better for us in many ways. That's true, but not all scientists are honourable. Some fix their results to suit the political climate, because they're directly or indirectly dependent on government cash.

I don't understand most of the first paragraph, or the second. Tell me this though? Who should pay for the little old lady's cup of tea?

As an average the atmosphere will get warmer....but because of some changes some place will get colder but not at the same rate as the places that are getting hotter. So on average it works out as GLOBAL warming even if a few places do cool.

Or are you so caught up in your conspiracies that you cant use simple logic

Education is useless if you don't have honesty. This quality is very quickly lost when one is punished for practising it. So I'll say again what you refuse to understand. Discrimination by the state is wrong. To single out the BNP as racists when the other parties also practise racism is very dishonest.

Your above argument also has traces of anxiety in it, because you know very well that people who have been discriminated against are turning to the BNP. Some are very educated and are sick of living in a country with no moral status, where fecklessness is rewarded and hard work punished.

Try telling those people the BNP are racists and see what they say.

Does it depend on whether she's evil or good? Remember she must be one or the other. And on whether she realises that the moral premises of the NHS are wrong?

But seriously, I agree with where you're trying to lead me - she should pay for it.

BTW, I notice when losing an argument about the NHS, you quickly switch to global warming. When you're losing that one, are you going to switch back to government intervention? It's no wonder some of us still don't know what you're talking about.

Now now Tom. Ok so if I take the temperature of the globe today and tommorow and find that on average it is colder tommorow does that mean it's global warming?
