I'm not sure the cunning adjustment - half a mile through thigh deep heather to cp13 - was much of an improvement either. 21.64m on my watch, mind.

Remind me which song it was? Oh, and rescuing sheep was a first for me too.
Well to be honest I thought you were being far too kind describing the wail as 'singing'! it was more of a whoop de whoop go on, you have to try it!!

You shouldn't run so fast hursty! I'll be off out for 7 or 8miles later all being well

Hehe, well I wanted to give it everything and see what happened. Wish I had the muscles to do 7 or 8 today!

Was going to fast to contemplate eating on the first half, which was my pitiful downfall on the 2nd half, lesson learnt there, energy will run out when you don't want it too, and you won't drop to last place if you stop for a few jelly babies, which I seem to think will happen in my head

7 or 8miles later might be a big ask; I'm cream-crackered after ironing a few shirts for work

Try and get into habit of eating on the climbs. Suspect you probably ran a lot of them but at my pace you can sneak half a Mars down you without loosing any time

There are hot dogs at the Haworth Hobble at around 14mile. No onions is my tip

Nice steady pace, but thats one of the hardest things to do in a race when the adrenalin is pumping!

I don't have your pace but do a lot of long challenge events etc and tend to be able to pace myself now. Hobble is interesting as best running is in first 20miles or so and a 'blast off, then hang on' strategy isn't a bad one. You should enter as its a real grand day out overseen by the main-man Brett! My first was only the second fell race I'd done and I wouldn't miss it for anything

Already entered mate, well entry was sent off last week

Should be no probs with adequate food and reigning in the pace on the climbs.

The Pendle Monster will be a nice marker to get in beforehand
