Hello all

Like the pork pie poem Herakles( i'm now considering a poem that will consider the ills of pork pie consumption)

like the SAIling in snow frecks your best one yet, a good economy of words

Aw you are sweet !.....Mossy i liked your haiku and Harry that story about your son is just adorable!

I went for a 10 miler today and feel pooped, feel like i have lost a lot of fitness lately and am looking forward to getting some consistency back into the old training. Anyhoo, think i will go and try and find some poetry.....

Well i think i will join you in the fruit and nutcake stakes but perhaps for less glam reasons than world wide travel! picture this.....

Freckle does the ironing
in bright purple tights
with fluffy pale blue socks
and a pinny to boot!

What an image! I didn't realise anyone used pinnys these days!!!!

But I must agmit I once had a pair of purple tights in my climbing youth.

Hi Harry Think you'd have enjoyed it! Great fun, nice to see lots of friends, clubmates and forumites and my tight / sore left calf survived How's your Achilles? You okay again?

I've ran a grand total of 3 miles in the last 2 weeks so I'm getting a tad frustrated. I'm just thankful it isn't getting any worse at the moment.

I'm glad it was a good day out.

Been Getting back into a bit of training achilles giving me some Jip

Iron Breath

My lungs are burning the more
I breathe the more fuel,
I add to the fire.
By blood is boiling inside my
heart; some unkown valve, somewhere
amongst this untidy plumbing, is going
To be torn apart.

The valve issues a vapour,
It rises through my trachea,
and fills my mouth with the
tang of iron; the taste of blood.

Well well well, you excel yourself tonight ND, those last two lines are killer ones "tang of iron" just class, i almost felt a visceral uncomfortableness when reading it which i think was perhaps the exact feeling you were trying to convey, the feeling you get on some runs?

Thanks Freckle. It is all part of the game managing injuries like this, but it is frustrating. You wouldn't believe the amount of gardening and DIY I've got done this weekend without thinking about getting a run in mind you.

Ha ha. I was going to ask the same!!!! I had a wonderful / dreadful taste in legwear in the early 90's. I did have a baggy pair of green, grey and pink climbing pants at one point. I seem to think they disappeared around the time I met Mrs. HHH. I must ask her what happened to them!
