Have you done an OW swim yet? it will be cold and dark but don't worry, I know tips for that too. I had a proper proper fear of Open Water and if I can swim 2 and a half miles in the sea then you can do it in a lake, mind you the South of France was a lot warmer!!

At least on leg 4 you can take my mind well and truly off Yewbarrow if you ask me all about the tri's then, I can waffle on for hours!
    Cheers Emma,

Hope you still speakin to me (emailed you)
We getting across to Lakes at least twice before Tri to recce route and do some swimming (and couple of days after Coniston race) so hoping swim ok. Gonna get shoes etc this week & try them out, I've joined a tri club and they are bombarding me with info. there's a few of us doing Keswick and we're going to do some practising....transitions etc.
Need need need to get on bike but secret fell training is taking up all my time

    It's all about the bike.

Yep, it is all about the bike, that is how I ended up racing the bike, rather than doing tri's... I found that I only ever did them because I liked riding a bike, so why put myself through the torture that is swimming and the torture that is having to hold back on my strongest discipline, in order to still be able to run after the bike?

Rest day for me, travelling back to the UK...

Start of an easy week on the bike, followed by a 10 day training camp on Majorca, leaving Sunday... grinding out the miles with a team of blokes all stronger than me, what is new?

The motorbike went today so I got my C Record and have ordered a pair of Ksyrium SL's. Going to strip the Colnago and put the bits on a new training frame/fork and the record/Ksyriums on the Colnago which has Easton EC90 full carbon forks on.

I looked at some carbon exotica but in real terms (North West roads) the Ksyriums are a more sensible option and the SL is a solid light wheel. Got them from The Tristore.com based down south for 639.00 - they are not easy to get hold of at the moment.

I LOVE the red hubs and single red spoke of them too...

I got them for the same reason as you Ady... I have some deep section carbon wheels for racing, but on the local roads around here I need something bombproof like the Ksyriums

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Feeling crap all day... got a weird cough again and been feeling cold all day. Not sure if I was feeling ill because I was cold or cold because I am ill... so no chaingang in the dark and rain and even no turbo.

Bed early and if I feel good tomorrow at 6 am, I will go and do a session on the track...
