Took a mega tumble coming down (obviously those wet stones...) and had the wind knocked out of my sails well and truly. Felt like I couldn't continue. A big THANK YOU to St John's crew and to all runners and sweepers, marshal's etc for the concern. Nowt broken as it turns out, just battered & bruised ribs.

Hope you enjoyed the race Manhar! Great to catch up with all you forumites (as ever) and met Ady and Antisocial for the first time. Hung around to soak up the atmosphere and for Datt to get back.

Jodg, glad you're ok. You tumbled just in front of me & quite a heroic tumble it was too ! Your first thought was to drag yourself off the track ! I patted you on the back & asked if you were ok & you told me to carry on ! I did.......very slowly. See you next year ?

I had factor 40 on. It worked in one regard, I didn't burn but maybe I should have rubbed it in a little better. The cream kept running into my eyes when I sweated. That's my excuse for my sorry performance anyway.

Phew, what a warm day, I can't believe there was a forecast 10 days before predicting sleet. A big thank you to all the spectators handing out drinks, jelly babies and fruit etc. They made things a little more bearable.

Have you recovered enough to race tonight?

We'd had a chat about it coming off Ingleborough but I thought the cramp might have kicked in a bit more, as it was it stayed off.

I even get people to do it in training, good for calf bounce !!!!!!

Jodg, I trotted steadily round in 4.32. Not spectacular, but pleased to get round. Just struggled on the last 4 mile, downhill, section. Bit dehydrated & took a tumble myself. Bruised left knee, cut right knee. Badges of honour !

Muddy Retriever, I've had that sun tan lotion in your eyes problem. But last year I tracked down some "blokey" sports sun tan lotion that, somehow, doesn't run in to your eyes. I think it was from Asda, in a blue bottle. Anyway, it works a treat !

yeah I got some boots 'extreme' stuff in a blue bottle - it takes some rubbing in but then it does 'stay in'

Thanks, I'll look out for that. With my fair skin I need something or I end up looking like a tomato.
