What oil do you use on your chain...and any other lubes you use - On your bike!

Ive always used some castrol 'hypo' gear oil. It was my grandad's...and he died 11 years ago. But its vertually untouched and seems to do the job.

My Focus Black Forest Pro 2010 arrived from wiggle the other monday night....OH MY DAYS...its beautiful!!!

Took it for an epic spin on sunday and got caked in mud and loved it.

Cleaned it down thinking of daz h...and oiled all three of my bike's chains.

Daz, you'll love how I store my bikes! My dads a joiner and he's come up with a belter of a solution - Only issue is that ive no idea how to upload full size pictures to show you.

    oils and lubes AL
    oh
right here goes. In my box I have

GT85 ( every bikie has that ) lubricant and penetrator
and gives a film o your bike form protection

TF2 grease for headsets ( lithium grease basically) water resistant
Park tool polylube grease( same as above but I use this on bottom brackets and pedals

WD40 which I use a lot for cleaning comboned with a degreaser

Nimrod , cycle oil for the chain
Finishing Line wet lube , for the chain if its wet a lot
and my fav lube oil is EPIC white lightning.

For cleaning my frame I use furniture polish AL
Its also worth rubbing some olive oil inside your seattube.

In a week or so I will strip my Rourke down to the frame and clean and double clean everything. Perhaps a bit ott , but I never ever have mechanicals.
Im not sure whats recommnded forthat carbon stuff. Emma will advise mate

Cheers daz, i'll get googling those.

I was always weary of WD40 seazing things up...obviously not.

Ive decided im going to buy a turbo for the winter and see if I can really get my legs right and I fancy trying an XC MTB race - I know, I might as well say im going to become friends with beelzebub himself daz, but I went mtb'ing on my new FOCUS hardtail on sunday and loved it - Partly due to my mud fettish.

You'll love how ive got my bikes stored in the garage...my dads a joiner and he's come up with a cracker....Id post a big picture if I knew how to!

AL your local bike shop will have all the products that you need. One thing I sometimes do if im feeling lazy is put the bike in the van and jet wash it off at the garage. Just dont blast around the bottom bracket and your cassete.

Hmmmm... high time I cleaned my bikes, or rather, Mr H. cleaned my bikes He seems to be in charge of that sort of thing these days, he insists on it! He has even threatened to clean out and hoover and wash my car :w00t:

Back on the track this morning for the first time in 6 weeks... not been on since the track champs. Hard sprint based session, but good to be back. Not sure if it is ideal training for 3 Peaks, but it is all part of the crash week of getting myself back on track for it after two weeks off the bike...

I am not flying to Turkey until the monday after the three peaks (usually fly out just after the wherside fell race. my smelly mubclaws usually cause havoc on the plane) so I am intending to be on the three peaks to jeer, cheer, mock or whatever

At least you'll have good top end speed for the bun fight at the start.
