Wasn't questioning the equipment, just the runners are we older and slower these days or was it the weather and conditions.

Sorry if you thought that was what I was suggesting...it was the first time CVFR had used SI equipment, and I was paranoid it was all going to go T*** up!! It was the first time I'd been involved with it other than as a competitor...in fact some people said they were "faster!" than their stop watches/garmins... I find when I train on the Midgley Moor/High Brown Knoll area, even though I know it very well, in clag I am much slower than in the "open" air so to speak. Also I noticed a significant number of entrants were over 40!!

I love the video. Made more poignant by my rubbish Talk Talk connection, which made everyone run very slowly and keep stopping. I could see myself competing in a race like that.

Any idea when entries open for this, 2011 online calender says entry by 30 jan direct to website but the form on website is 2010. Should I be using this?

We'd reckoned on opening entries for this sometime around Christmas. I don't think its good to have entries open too early - influencing people to enter very early then having a long opportunity to get an injury and have to drop out, especially over winter.

You're right - the webpage is still from 2010. Well spotted Paul! I'll see if I can get that changed to say that the 2011 form will be available sometime around Christmas.

By the way, we should be able to get more people entered onto the Trog this year - the Half-Trog has been separated from the Full Trog and moved to November 12th for 2011. So the limit of 200 people that used to apply to both races combined (because of parking restrictions) can now be totally for Full Troggers.
