Ya it is a bit odd you have to run into what looks like a private housing estate to pickup the footpath down to the bridge and into the scout hut field.

I think those guys went wrong at New Allotments. Probably forgot to turn right and went straight on down Laneside into New Mills near the Fire Station.

That would have added a fair bit onto the run

Ha Ha. Quality wrong turn. I'd have been tempted to nip into the Hare and Hounds at the bottom of Laneside after that detour.

Think I'll make my seasons debut in this race.

Is anyone doing this one on Sunday? I've just printed the map off although I have done it before, 2008 I think but I can't really remember much of it. I do remember crossing the road at Peep O Day and having to go up a big hill!

Yes I am doing it (there will be quite a few Pennine out)
It is not a big hill up to Big Stone after Peep O Day, it just feel like it after 12 miles. Once up to Big Stone it is downhill all the way back.

Don't fret! - there are usually marshals to guide you round the twists and turns of the last few hundred yards/metres.

    Cheers, Steve

Do you want to meet up? I could show you the last bit. I could be there an hour before race start time or a bit more if necessary.

Yeah sure. I'll be there with my dog, collie looking thing, I'll probably be wearing a bright orange Boston Marathon fleece top. I'll aim to be there for 10.. i was planning on jogging about a km up the route.. at least on to the traversing track that leads down towards that clough... car is distinctive silver seat with the front fender falling off...
