Lakeland 100 - 2012

Hope no-one minds me replying on here (im a mere 50 mile contender) - very excited but now very nervous! This years training and ultra races have gone fantastically well as a newby to this distance, but then disaster struck 4 weeks ago and i have developed a mystery pain in my hip and pelvis which i have been having treatment on - timing or what!! anyway the longest run i have done is 8 miles and even that was a stagger. For me now i will just be powerwalking round and enjoying the views, if there is no pain - be a bleeding miracle- i will jog the downhills. i will also be replacing gels with codeine pills, maximum strength! Moan over - it will be a great day and there will be many new people to meet and chat too.

You'll be right TT, I did OCT in May then didn't run above 10m between then and L50, also found out after my under active thyroid was way down, had a blood test the day before L50, no wonder I fell asleep on the coach to Dalemain.

I'd have though most people off here, reasonably sensible and (at least!) moderately trained up, would easily get under 34 hours. I went and supported my mate doing West Highland Way Race and he did 34 hours or so with minimal training and little in the way of off road racing/running experience. The final cut-off for WHW is 35 hours!. Come on people we want to be seeing sub 30's for everyone!! :thumbup:

Interesting, It was kind of tounge in cheek tbf. But to be honest I have'nt really checked the stats of both runs, I'll have to see when I get home tonight. Also, as I'm only doing the 50 I don't really have much idea as to the first 50!!
