Well it seems pretty likely I'm being expelled for my 'criticism' of the race organiser..which has now been extrapolated to 'organisers'... all I said was whilst understandable and the organisers call I disagreed, and I wasn't even an Eryri member, so then attacked in the Newsletter, mocked for suggesting dibbers instead of marshalls at some points (which are deemed safe in 3 hr mini mountain marathons - hardly a contraversial view), and then warned as I had 'embarrassed the club'....so I reacted...

At the Peris prize giving they went around the room trying to find a more local person, then the RO made it clear under no circumstances was my picture to go in the paper, then I was mocked as the race must have been longer this year as the time was so slow....yet this is not personal... good to know...

Needless to say I won't leave, and have the support of the runners so will stay and undermine these idiots hoping they will be forced to step down.

    Re: Peris Horseshoe

When I felt I was running well on the fells & fancied joining a local(ish) club that was competing nationally, the choice for me was Eryri or Mercia. Even back then - despite having a number of runners that I got along with - Eryri had the reputation of being as mad as a box of frogs. Seems that little has changed.

Iain, I hope you can change things.

    Re: Peris Horseshoe

Seriously thinking of doing the full Peris for my autumn challenge - not done anything quite as tough as this one, so will want to get a couple of recces in before the race day over the summer. Thus if I'm making the trip over from Leeds, I might as well make a weekend of it and do some races at the same time and see a bit more of N Wales (never visited!). Anyone got any suggestions on good races that I could look at? Don't particularly mind if I recce on Sat and then race on sun (since these won't be target races), but would prefer the other way around if at all possible.

If anyone fancies joining me for a couple of steady recces as well, let me know.

I am heading down for it. I have not been over the route so my measure of success will be avoiding getting lost and coming last!
