There wont be many people behind me to follow any secret lines at that stage other than the sweeper if there is one

Any advice for the route over St Sunday please? Is it straight over the top and then turn off to get over to the hole in the wall?

You aren't actually going to hole-in-the-wall the crossing point is a stile in the wall lower down the fell. the path up to St Sunday is pretty clear from grizedale tarn and brings you out onto the ridge about 0.5k fron the top where there is a checkpoint. From there either follow the main trod onward before descending into the valley to the checkpoint by the gate or, and quicker, leave the summit to the right of the main trod by a faint trod which joins up with a better path to rejoin the ridge further on. At this point you hit the main trod again and simply go straight across it to hit a very steep gully which takes you down into the valley as before.

Still no word on cut off time at Tarn have tried to call R/O but no answer am just going to have to wing it, i just wish they would think about the slow end as well as the fast end.

Weather looks a bit iffy too. Experct the marshalls will not be wanting to hang around too long - but thanks to them in advance as it says 'heavy rain' on the BBC weather. Wonder if thay have access to the hut nearby beneath Dollywagon.

Contemplating if I will be ok with a long sleeve base and montane minimus smock. Willl take my superfly to reg in case someone decides to be pedantic about the definition of 'waterproof with taped seams'! Pertex Shield + is fully waterproof/taped seams (Minimus). The Montane Superfly is event taped. Taking 2L of fluid plus wine gums, waterproof trousers, map + compass, hat + gloves. Running in Salmon speed cross 2's.
