I should have 14 cases with me, the brewery have run out of unlabelled ale so they have given me Pale ale which is what rescue ale is, same price and same money to the rescue team.

I'll take half a case at least, if still capable of speech. Mmmmm Beer...

Ran the 2nd half today - parked Edale, walked/ ran up the 'retirement' path, set off from Mam Nick and made it round to finish in a steady pace in 2hrs exactly, including stops/ food etc. Happy with that after 7.5miles last night with the Hash

It does look like the kit will be needed on Sunday :-(, unlike today which was glorious if fresh and breezy
Found a better line over Brown Knoll - found the Boundary Stone! but not sure about the line across to Pym Chair, i.e. is it worth it? Got a good line north of the Woolpacks which I think is worth it. Still hate the descent off RR, but won't care on the day.

Looking forward to it, but could someone clarify the location of the CP on RR? is it on the western side of the summit near the yellow flagged path?

    Edale Skyline Car Parking

Parking in Edale is always tight, no more so than on Skyline Sunday. Your options are:

Use the parking bays at the village hall. £5 for the day, but you MUST be in a bay, it is regularly patrolled by a sub-contract parking firm and they are more than happy to issue tickets. You’ve been warned!

Station overflow parking may be open this year and will cost £4, paid directly to the Edale Village Committee at the gateway.

Race Parking will be available on the day. Follow the signs from the Village centre and then marshals’ instructions. The car park is a short distance west of the village, and is served by a public footpath back to the village – a 10 minute walk to registration, or 15 minutes to the start. To encourage car sharing, multiple occupancy cars will be charged £1, single occupancy £3.

    Thanks

Discussion last night about extra kit should we get really bad weather, not sure we'll up it BUT bring long legs and extra thermal just in case.

Unless you are going to be pushing Lloyd for the lead I wouldn't worry about RR but it's on the flat bit near top of ridge. on the way back take the higher contour path.

If the weather forecast plays out I'll be running in longs anyway - muscles work better when warm (allegedly)

Once a Boy Scout, always a Boy Scout.
Can we have a competition for the heaviest pack/ most kit? It may be the only thing I could win!
(2 compasses, 2(or 3!)maps, 2 extra layers, water, food, multitool, torch, whistle, phone, spare tenner, micro bivvy, Camelbak, duct tape, cable ties, string, 1st aid kit... is some of what I carried round yesterday and will do on the day)
No dog on the day though, so at least no lead and no dried sliced sausage treats.

Thanks for the RR tip. When I recce'd the outward half I drifted right(east) up the gentle path to the skyline too soon; realised I was wrong when I got back as the CP grid ref is definitely not E of RR.
Doing the 2nd half a couple of times the route out and back more obviously leaves RR to the east of you both ways

Does anyone know if you'll be able to get your car out during the race? I.e. will the race field car park work like a normal car park or will they try and cram on as many people as possible, in doing so blocking people in?

Just a quick question. With some of you lads been able to recce the course recently, what shoes would you recommend? Out'n out fell shoes or trail shoes? A colleague even said if its dry ya could get round in road shoes. Any advice?
