Parking will be arranged so that people can get out whenever they like, however inconsiderate Twunts may be beyond our control.

Mudclaws would be my shoe of choice however these will only really come in to their own in short sections but I've yet to think I've ever had too much grip.

I'll be running in X talons but that's because my Mudclaw 272s hurt the front of my foot and the talons are what I've been running in mostly these days.

would have thought you should be able to get out but can't promise, ask marshall if you can park near entrance or park in main carpark.

I'll be in fell shoes, there's a steep heathery descent, if the grass is wet the descent from the coffin stone can be slippy too.

just worked out who you are Will

I think your colleague is an ... optimist. Nothing wrong with that :-)

It was about as 'dry' as it gets this time of year, when I was out on Wednesday and I was glad I was in Mudclaws(on the 2nd half). It's rained since, and it's going to rain on the day.
Personally I would go for something with some studs, or at the very least an 'aggressive trail' shoe like a Roclite or Sportiva Croslite. I'm likely going with the Mudclaws again on Sunday. I'd be tempted with my 212's if it was half the distance or less.

    Cheers!

I'll definitely be in fell shoes, I can't imagine how bad Brown Knoll would be without (then again, I suppose it's relatively flat...).

Weather reports I've seen have it possibly raining/low cloud, but easing winds. Certainly much lighter than today.

    Hopefully it'll be fairly reasonable!

With parking at a premium, I had thought of parking at Heatherdene(?) near the res and making my way up to Win Hill. As the first runner approaches, walk towards Hope Cross and this will allow me to take photos with different backgrounds. Not keen on the same background for all shots. I'd love to move onto another spot but parking would be a problem.

Y'know if this weather pushes through a bit earlier it could be pretty nice on Sunday... but perhaps I'm being a bit optimistic! The afternoon at least should be nice and any showers will be short. Still chilly though.
