Short answer, if a “discussion” like this goes on long enough someone inevitably brings the nazis into it.
I don’t think Godwin’s law is applicable in this circumstance. You have ignored the context in which the Nazis came up. Although it has wandered off at times, this thread is about a new political party. This has come about in part because of extremism and racism in the Labour Party. Recent posts have been about militant extremism. I think we can safely put the Nazis in that category. Nobody has called anyone on the forum a Nazi, at least not yet.

    Care to explain why?

My point was that the hard left and hard right are actually rather similar in outlook.

With regard to you saying that somebody is close to comparing Corbyn with Hitler and Stalin, I for one wouldn’t do that. They were both despots who murdered millions of people.

    Corbyn is a racist though.

Explain myself, well I never. Surely voicing my endless wisdom should be enough for all! (Although I do strive to defer from offering genuine opinions, the bickering distracts from gauging and hearing unfettered alternative views)

To be honest, mostly I’m jesting with Godwn.

It’s close though. Talking about Nazis, Fascism, then stating that some see (not your good self) fascism in Corbyns Labour. Some would call Godwins on that. Some would not.

Far left and Far right. No, not a great deal in it practice. It seems that the extremes are usually the arsehole end of the spectrum. Which is ironic for something innately crevice like.

It would be interesting to see, who in the UK is actually more violent. The militant left or right. There’s a habit for comparing the UKs left with the absolute extremes of history, even when that left is clearly capitalist. Just not capitalist enough.

Speaking of racists, I need to catch up on Trumps Twitter feed.

If history has taught us anything it is how the rhetoric of hate can become so easily the genocide of hate.
How apparently rational people can descend into riot and civil war. Remember London riots? How in the name of power for people autocratic socialism has committed many of the worst atrocities in history, the first actions of which are to gag media and repress all criticism by intimidation. It all begins in such a benign way.

So when I hear phrases repeated such as " Zionist pig" " Tory vermin" - militant left gatherings rabble rousing applauding them, I am reminded of such as " Tutsi cockroach" in Rwanda. Months later 1 million were dead. Up to that day it was a local saying that " God tended to the world during the day, but slept in Rwanda" - it was such a beautiful place back then.
Words lead to action. Concrete blocks that murdered " scabs" in the miners strike.

So if there is a message from history it is : "never forget where hate rhetoric can lead." The present labour leadership encourage it, not quell it. Remember mcdonnel encouraging anarchy after the last election " take to the streets to reverse the result!"
I was in the wonderful places and normality that were Serbia and Croatia days before the Armageddon. It was hard to believe.

If history teaches us anything it's that history teaches us nothing.

Indeed. How quickly many have forgotten where Corbyns politics led in the seventies, indeed where such policies always lead. Einstein would say Corbynistas are mad. Doing the same thing, expecting a different result,

Over on another forum their saying, almost word for word, the same thing. But about the far right of the Tory party and UKIP.

Before I post this I will say I’ll not vote labour whilst Corbyn is leader. And I’m not advocating anything, it’s more a prodding question.

But what are people’s thoughts on Singapores HMB (Housing and development board).

It had its place in clearing slums.
You do know Singapore now has the highest rate of home ownership in the world do you at over 90 percent? primarily because Of being able to borrow from pensions. People ask why Brexit? My answer is to become the Singapore of the north which you cannot do with EU straightjacket and chains, or with Corbyns hatred of business , personal success and private ownership.
