Any nasty cobbled/slabbed bits on that leg?

It's cobbled dropping down into Ripponden, also quite slippy dropping into Millbank,

    Best of luck

    Trail shoes for me - Inov8 315.

Did it in Walshies last year but they're too hard - there's quite a lot of hard track and some tarmac (even some good old fashioned cobbles) so a bit of cushion is welcome.

Don't know why but I have a sneaky feeling it might be a tad damp tomorrow.....

er is this a bit late to be asking - but I seem to have been given two routes/descriptions - I've printed pikes' route map and thought i was doing that but then have been given some pages from the book - these describe a different route - which is the master route / description? - ie I'm doing leg 2 - do i go to stoodly pike - the book misses it out?????

No idea but the race route as in Pike's description deviates from the official Calderdale Way route (book version) to take in SP.

    enjoy it !!

    My vote is for 4!!

Not done 3 (or 6) but I'm sure that would suit me as I'm a bit of Swoop on the descents!!

ok thanks MT - I'll use the pike route! - I expect I'll see brett tomorrow before leg 2 start so he can check I've got the right route!

I went round most of it today - and yes - I thought it was really good - even in the sleet - so I'll count myself lucky for getting leg 2 hey brett?
