Aye he is . Bad news is he's taking early retirement (b*****d) and plans to spend half the year touring europe in his huge motor home with his missus. Worse he's about to sell his car to save money coz it'll just be sitting in his garage when he's away! Can just imagine the chaos we'll cause driving down Borrowdale/Wasdale in the motor home, it has trouble fitting on a 3 lane motorway!

Mind you his missus didn't sound too keen on the car idea so there's hope yet!

Id agree with Daz - join another club that can get a team together. (oh yeah, you did - the club that is anti rules and organisation!!!) Methinks you might be waiting a while to get a run out in a relay!

Been there done that, the problem re taking the motorhome to Wasdale is the parking when you get there, the National trust campsite at Wasdale Head only has parking for about 5 motorhomes and you can,t pre book so you have to go and take your chance which isn't always good.

I think the problem might be that you have set yourself up to be different but havent really said exactly what you stand for; so you have some members who are wanting to run in relays and are willing to pay to affiliate to do that and others that arent interested.

Whether you like it or not the fact that you have given your 'club' a name, invited people to join, set up a website, sold vests etc suggests some level of organisation. Its all very well saying you dont want all the bullshit, but one persons bullshit is a necessary evil for other people to get what they want from the sport - some degree of organisation, a sense of belonging, racing as part of a team, organised events with rules etc

Ponies are good for carting about heavy things, while most other animals will just moan and complain. Ponies will just cheerfully get on with the job.
