2 hours of gardening. Didnt bother with the heartrate monitor. Didnt bother with the GPS either as my garden is very small.

11 miles , quite windy but warm
nearly had to stop at swingate :o
An easy flattish 4 miles, taking it easy before Wardle tomorrow.
19.5 mlles on hilly roads (2700 ft). Ran attempting to stick to a heartrate, trouble is i dont know my max HR for certain yet so was taking a guess at aiming to keep it near 160bpm. Perhaps I would have ran faster lap times if i had simply ran hard throughout rather than holding the heartrate back when going uphill and struggling at times to keep it high enough on the downhills.
It's all about data gathering at the moment though, once I know how high a pulse i can maintain for any given time/distance I should hopefully be training more efficiently. (and resting properly on the easy days)
Bike. 48 hilly and windy miles. All ridden on the front.
My first ever road race and 10km this morning!!
Really hot day and was parched from about 4 miles - no water stations so soldiered on! Struggled from this point - legs still heavy.
Was under pressure for a sub 50 but felt sub 55 was more like it - no speed in the legs with all this hill running!
Anyway - played cat and mouse with some litter lout bloke (he tossed his empty drink thingy when he finished it in a hedgerow:mad: ) ended up we were neck and neck up the last hill - he managed to push his way past - not the first time he'd nudged me either then the final lap of the field i had my support crew bellowing which really helped so this bloke and I had a sprint finish and I'm please to say I won that battle!! got a time of 47:27 and was 14th lady overall!!
Still Grinning:D :D
well done emmilou
9 miles for me
total for week = 52
About 12 miles from Cilcain taking in a recce of the Llangynhafal Loop. Ground dry and hard.
Can't see many runners using the track for the final descent. The trods across the grass are quite clear.
I passed just to the left of the quarry and headed almost straight for the gate at the bottom.
No doubt Fellrunner will know a better line so we'll all follow!:D
An easy 6 miles today -even found a wet muddy couple of metres:)
Ran/walked the fairfield horseshoe today, lovely weather and fantastic views. Really struggled today though, legs felt wooden
6 miles am then some 600m reps on the track tonight ready for tuesday ;)
22 miles on the bike last night after I got back from amsterdam!
Planning on a 9.5 mile road run tonight!
Training starts back this week after chilling out last week due to london!
PLanning on upping the milage to 50 from now on as well.
Session in the gym this morning -
few km's on the recumbant cycle thingy, then onto the treddie for a hill/flat reps session, then a half km flat out run/rest then another trying to beat the previous one etc (bloomin knackering!) then another incline set but no flat recovery - got 6 minutes into this final set then the calf got really sore
...........................................off to post in the injuries thread:o
An hour in the glorious sunshine along the canal and around Dunham Park.
Tired after Wardle on Saturday and yesterday's trot around the Clwydian Hills.
3.1 miles over the fields as a speedy fartlek, really mixing it up and pushing the hilly bits. In contrast to yesterdays' slow 10 miles. Doing the GEAR 10k at Kings Lynn on Sunday. Dead flat:( , beside the Great Ouse River and around the town.
10 miles.
Decided to run to a heartrate of 160bpm. Found this difficult to stick to on the headwind 5m out but was no probs with the tailwind home. To be honest this felt like a hard run so i was a bit disapointed with 63mins.
6.1 miles 42 mins! First road run since FLM.
Occasionally got a shooting pain in my right knee when going up hill.
And now my chest is killing me this morning! Don't think I'm having a heart attack but just going to post on the injury thread just incase!
Horrendous run last night.
3 painful miles in a headlong wind - although at one point I did manage to 4min mile!! No - not on a downhill - got chased by a chuffing herd of cows:eek:
No calves in the field and it's a public footpath field so I wasn't somewhere I shouldn't have been and the bloody things all legged it after me!! Blimey they can't half shift:mad:
then to top it off on the way home I walked (leg hurting) passed a wooded area and 3 men(not young lads) were acting VERY supiciously then started shouting things at me - felt very vulnerable especially as I was wearing me shorts! Thought they were going to start coming after me so once again broke into a sprint!
All in all a crappy run but my easy session turned into a fartlek so must look on the bright side!:o
I'm back!
2 x 10 minutes on bike in the gym. First exercise since knee op. Really want to go out for a run, but physio says i should make some gradual progressions and get my knee strength back, and i suppose he might know what he's talking about.
Track tonight? Maybe not.
NO! Stay off the track for now Mr Ricepudding :D
43 min run round town just now, followed by 20 press ups (well 19 actually :o but i tried) and 20 sit ups
Not bad really considering I couldn't do one press up about 3 months ago
Mr Swoop, Dave the dog and I ran round Rivington/Belmont etc for 12 miles in the glorious sunshine although a tad blustery out there today.:(
Enjoyable run although a bit on the slow side due to my dodgy leg!!:o
Your must be on 16-17 for the week now, and only 2 days in!
Well done! :D
Bit of a half-arsed track session. 200,200,400,400,200,200. Rest up for 3mins then repeat all.
summer league club race
5miles flat owt
just had chips:)
Treated myself to two v easy days - only bike commute yesterday and 4.5 miles steady today.
8 x 400 'fast' with 3 min recovery. (Wind on home straight was hard going). Best set of times for a few years though, good consolation for 'chickening out' of the Stretford track meeting because of the wind. :p
4 mile race tonight!
Didn't do owt last night chest / back still sore.:(
Am thinking its more my back at the moment.
Will see how I get on tonight!
Nothing today so far.:( Think i may have overdone it yesterday.;)
Dragons Back training - Day 1
13 miles mostly off road with 800ft climbing.
Phew! That's enough of that! Best start tapering...
