6 x 800m off 90sec rest
If you mean those sleeping policeman, I tend to run on the grass beside the road (but even then there are the car parking area logs to watch out for). On the bit to Cavendish I guess I ought really to run the other side of the river anyway but I just like the full circuit with no ground covered twice. I do take the top path to the Strid which includes a lettle chug up a zig zag path just into the woods after Cavendish to make it just a tad harder :)
You're right though, its a fantastic run.
2 hours 20 with Emma, Dave & Shirley from Roddlesworth over Great Hill and Spitlers Edge to Winter Hill.
(Nearly lost Shirley in a bog!) Back through Belmont and around the reservoir.
Followed by full breakfast in Vaughn's Cafe watching the birds.
A rapid 51 on the bike this morning followed by decorating and gardening with no time for an evening run!!!
11 miles on the road in Bar Harbour Maine with the QE2 moored in the bay. Nice sight
2.5 miles - not much I know, still testing out the knee gently.
Yesterdays cycle seems to have done some good - it only felt a bit funny, not actually painful for the first time in weeks :D
did 10 mile fell sunday,5 mile last night
10 miles on Bleaklow tonight.
I did a massive 6 miles this morning. That's it 'til Saturday when I'll spend most of my day weeping around langdale, or maybe sobbing will be a more accurate description hmmmmmm
Left home at 0730; a cheeky chappy told me to keep on running. I suggested that he run too. Saw Bobby at the School. "Liverpool were rubbish last night:p " I said. "Diabolical" came the reply. It was cool, but I was warming up. By the brook the traffic was heavier than usual and I climbed the hill avoiding pedestrians. In Partingdale Lane (open to traffic once more!) I caught a leaf:cool: as it fell from a tree then turned right for the final stretch to work. 3 easy miles. Much better than driving in.
I ran a bit.
Knee starts to hurt around the 2 mile mark!
Will try a bit further at the weekend
off out for a run now,i've been waiting for this all day
after driving from glossop up to charlesworth and onto hayfield a night run up onto the magnificent hills, a clear magical star laden sky was the reward, torches everywhere.
it was a brilliant night for running
stopped on top of the hill at charlesworth to look at the view over to manchester:) , wow now thats a view
pity about the two chavs in the layby with there corsa's
School XC cub and then a run including 16x1min off 30 secs round Dovestones. Nice night for running.
This is where running in the Dales and probably the Peak District is so much more 'dangerous' than the Lakes; in the Lakes once you hit the side of a hill or mountain at the fell gate usually you've just got sheep to worry about. In the Dales cows can roam most anywhere and the farmers love to release the odd bull amongst the herds July~August time too. Needless to say, fell runners from Yorkshire are tougher for the experience ;)
13 laborious and hot and humid miles on the road. 82 degrees f at 10.30am over here today - silly for this time of year.

swimming today - legs not really with me, think I left them in the changing room - arms too for that matter but still did 2 x 400m, then some drills not bad considering!
59:26 off road - about 8 miles. Had wanted to get under the hour. First one over 30 mins since the Isle Of Wight and felt good. I'll be bombing round the red light district in Frankfurt on Wednesday night!
Be careful, it's a slippery slope .
10.5miles 1600ft on the roads,
Darwens roads are hilly you know (fell runners winter paradise), you have just got to go out and find them and perhaps run the same one twice or three times.
Felt pretty good tonight to say I did the langdale on saturday
Hotel treadmills!! - I hate them with a passion. Im gonna take a hammer to the next one
Still struggling with this bloody hip injury. Its fine on the bike but painful when trying to run - looks like another few days rest at the least before I will be running again.
Have you had any physio?
No not had any physio but that sounds like a good idea. Not had any physio since my footballing days.
Just under an hour from Ogden Water, moorland and woodland loops including a first ever visit to the Giant's Tooth (see 1 January entry in FRA calendar).
Try these. www.athletematters.co.uk well worth a visit if local. I travel 30 minutes when roads are quiet to get to see Duncan Mason but well worth it.
Tonights training started wet and ended as wet.
5 miles this morning at 5.45am and it was raining hard. The truck drivers going over woodhead would have wondered what the hell I was doing as I ran through Tintwistle.
Tonights training was 8 x 3mins off 1 min jog. Started dry for about 1 minute until again the heavens opened. Did about 12 miles in total, up to Crowden campsite and then down the trail. Very very wet.
I wonder what the weather will be like when I get up.
