I did read the whole thread. I also understand the need to diversify across a portfolio, and completely agree with you.

My latest post was mainly a friendly dig at CL for not acting on his vociferously argued advice to others.

You're getting sucked into the Heathens' lies Noel. That's why you've got to be really careful when you read his posts. For instance he claims that I said I didn't have the conviction to put all my money in gold. Where did I say that?

He's concluded this response from my answer and then ascribed it to me, even saying I said it. The question was asked: 'How much wealth would you bet on this conviction' My answer: 'none I don't gamble on conviction.'

You see I don't see investing in gold as a bet. I do see diversification as a bet though, and consequently see it as part of the cause of the credit crunch. That much is obvious to a goat.

So in summary gold is king, diversification is dead.
