    Re: Todays Injuries

To those with pain in the ... buttocks, I would say it is probably sciatica (non-medic, speaking from personal experience). Do what most of us do, grin and bear it (especially if you have hit middle-age) and don't spend money on physiotherapy. It does go away some times. I used to get it a lot many years ago when I was driving a car with a very soft seat. A firm seat felt much better.

Sorry to hear mate, and the fall yesterday!

I keep nearly doing a similar thing heading up Ogden Clough, as the path sinks but stays narrow, I clip my right foot (bad leg) on a certain rock everytime I go up and nearly end up arse over tit.

ydt, I'd tend to agree with you but sometimes it's not so easy to fight through

sometimes in the mornings I literally cannot run: I force myself into a painful hobbling jog, and slowly after a mile or so I approach something like a normal running stride

I also find, cos of a very persistent hamstring problem, that the second half of long fell races turns into a battle against pain with every lift of the knee

when there are plenty of other things I'd rather be using my energy fighting against, like fatigue, the desire to slow down, the weather, etc ...

Exact same place, exact same thing (probably not exact same rock).

Tennis elbow seems to go from time to time, but will probably die down in a couple of weeks.

Cheers, but worse things happen at sea.

Agree with all that. Of course, when it gets so bad you can't run/drive/get out of bed then the grinning stops. That's when I go off to the physio to get my vertebrae moving again. And avoid the Kia cee'd. That's what my wife drives - it's a great car for the money but the seats aren't sciatica-compatible. Today I'm sitting uncomfortably after hill reps yesterday following a few days' lay-off for illness. Should be a bit better tomorrow. I hope.

Not an injury but my goodness I am aching in muscles I didn't know I had! Can't work out why??? I always do a series of stretches post run.
Had an enforced week off after XOTF then have done only two treadmill sessions this week.... 8.5 and 5.5 milers.....so nothing out of the ordinary. But my legs, especially calves, thighs, back everything is suffering from muscle soreness. Could this be a sign new trainers are needed???
