No, however if the Keighley runners I was there to support had been behind you things may have been different

Great time FR1. totally agree about the road bits.

    Well done all
Thanks for coming out. Think I spotted you up by the aerials. you had the dog under-control by then. i was one of two P&B vests.

really enjoyed the day out (I can say thatnow, after getting dried out and eating non-stop for 8 hours afterwards!). Had two 'up-to-my-knee' adventures on the top, but no harm done. however I am really annoyed with myself for going AWOL on the Chevin and coming up at Surprise View (I certainly was surprised!) Recon I added nearly a mile and a half on, which meant I missed going sub 4 by 5 mins. oh well, at least not make the same mistake nexxt year!

Well my time was quite pitiful compared to you lot - 5hrs 5min. But I'm recovering from whiplash, hadn't done enough training and twisted my ankle half a mile before burley woodhead. Excuses excuses excuses............having said that if everything had been as it should be I can't see me knocking more than half an hour of that time on a veryt good day!!! But then I just enjoying taking part

That bog was unreal. It just went on and on and on, mile after boggy mile. So energy sapping, especially with the headwind. I was soooo glad to get off the moor in the end. But that's one cruel mother that decided to put in that hike up the Chevin at the end

As ever the orgainsation, marshalling, refreshments, support, finishing meal etc etc was fantastic. Can't praise the scouts enough. Well done!!!

Right, must go, I can't hardly walk on this ankle, been up all night with the pain so might just have to go and get someone proper to look at it.

Well done to all that finished. A job well done

Yeah, just emptied my system and then was fine about 20mins later and once I'd got some food down me. Same thing (but worse) happened to me last year after doing a road 20miler - my body just seems to struggle a bit with distances longer than about 19miles (done 18ish miles in training and did Yorkshireman half no problem). Guess I just need to do more long runs! At least I've got Edale Skyline before 3P to try a couple of things.
Mind you yesterday was the longest run I've done ever by about 2-3miles and half an hour.

Sore knees today for some reason, but otherwise in surprisingly good shape. Longest run I've done by about 5miles so I expected to be very sore today, but feel pretty good.

DNF Im afraid to report :-(

Long story but i came off my bike tuesday out training and have been on the meds since..not sure if they were the cause, but at Ilkley Bottom my legs were going solid..no cramp or anything but just locking up...tried to get going but it wasnt hapening and took me about 40 minutes to get to Burley Woodhead..game over.
My running mate who has been training on the course with me pushed on and despite a little hiccup on the Chevin managed to post 3:16...well done to you all.

Enjoyable bog trot. I lost it for a bit just out of Menston (I always have trouble here) but recovered ok after the Chevin. It seems to be about the 19 mile mark that gets me every time. Do I just need more long runs? Got round in my slowest yet 3.39. Feel fine today. Off for run now. Oh, and the volunteers on feed stations are fantastic!
