The prediction for decent weather for the event has been there pretty much all week, which is amazing considering how it's been for so long now. The sun will be shining on Dent as usual. Prepare to break out into a sweat on the climb out towards Blea Moor.

I'm not sure what time you are planning on doing but for the majority they (and me) will be on Fleet Moss at dusk. That's the section you have to manage carefully or despondency will set in. Take action before you get cold, have gloves in your pocket ready and extra stuff close to hand, if you put a bit too much on then remember to ventilate (undo zips) and maintain a constant temperature. There's always the tendency to keep bashing along in the group and forgetting to look after yourself and you plod along at the back slowly getting worse. Keep your spirits high! Get to Hell Gap and then it's the home run.

Brilliant advice Roger. Spot on. Along with that is not to let your blood sugar level drop too far - keep fuelling little and often.

Thanks for the tips RogerM & BritNick.

My vague plan is to get to Fleet Moss around grouping time but we’ll see!

Really need to make sure I keep an eye on my temperature and keep eating – I do have a tendency to let things slide which you can get away to an extent on shorter things but will suffer for on the Fellsman.

Good luck to everyone – see you at Threshfield or the start

Thats brilliant RogerM. I think if you can get to the Hell Gap CP you've psychologically beaten the bugger and its just a matter of trudging out the last 13 to 14 (ish) miles at what ever speed you can manage

Good luck everyone. Got this pencilled in for next year, work dependent, which hampered me this year!

A bit worried about the grouping part.....don't want to let anyone down during it if I have a blowout!
