this year will be the 8th consecutive christmas that me and one of my best buddies will have met at 730 a.m. for a run around Castle Eden Dene, one of the Norths hidden gems. We have had some amazing runs over the years, sometimes in brilliant powder snow conditions, and it doesn't half set you up for the day ahead can't wait for this years, don't think it'll be a white one like :/

I'll be out for at least an hour. Having adopted two rescue collies last year, I'm a fully paid up member of the 365 club. They don't believe in rest days

Shouldn't that be 366 this year?

Forget all that training lark Iain R, flop a roos on the couch and watch Singin' in the Rain.

    Re: Christmas day running

Always. Mrs Nutkey used to head off to her parents on xmas eve, now she leaves in the morning with the kids. I run over to the in-laws and get there in time for a shower and lunch. One year I took the running buggy, because she forgot to take all the presents over! They keep moving house, so now it's 9 miles away, though last year I extended it with a detour over some muddy fields which involved quite a lot of climbing fences and trespassing on government sites*, mostly because the paths on the grounds didn't much resemble the ones on the map. Or maybe I'm just crap at map-reading.

    * Some sort of agricultural thing. Not the sort with armed guards.

I've managed to successfully negotiate an trip out to some hills for a 10miler, although at the cost of wearing a Santa hat

Usually have to hit the roads, so bonus
